Care.

Wipe with a soft cloth and warm water. For regular cleaning use a pH-neutral stone soap such as Lithofin Easy-Clean or Akemi Crystal Clean. Avoid vinegar, lemon, bleach and standard bathroom or kitchen sprays — acids etch the surface and leave dull marks.

Marble is porous. A penetrating sealer such as Lithofin MN Stain-Stop or Akemi Stain Repellent reduces absorption and gives time to wipe spills before they stain. Reseal once or twice a year depending on use; more often for kitchens.

Blot — do not wipe — wine, coffee, oil and citrus immediately. For set stains use a poultice such as Lithofin Stain-Stop Power Cleaner or a paste of baking soda and water; leave covered overnight, then rinse.

Light etch marks from acids can be polished out with a marble polishing powder such as Tenax Marble Polishing Powder. Deeper damage is part of how marble lives with you. Honed finishes show etching less than polished.

Use trivets under hot pans and coasters under metal. Do not stand or sit on basins or vanity tops. Heavy point loads can chip edges.
