A marble floor is used every day and seen every day. Finish, size and the subfloor decide how it performs.

Honed or brushed for floors. Polished marble is slippery when wet and shows wear paths.

Stone needs a flat, rigid base. Movement in the subfloor cracks tiles and grout. Ask your installer to check it first.

Marble conducts heat well and works with underfloor heating. Heat up the system slowly the first time, after the adhesive has cured.

Stone feels cool. With underfloor heating it holds warmth well.
Polished ones can be when wet. Honed tiles have good grip.
Decades. It can be re-honed when worn.
