Guide

Marble wall tiles. Behind the basin and beyond.

Walls see little wear, so marble on walls is simple to live with. It is also where the veining is seen at eye level.

01

Where.

Behind a basin, around a mirror, a full shower wall, or a kitchen splashback. One wall is often enough.

02

Finish.

Polished shows the stone at its strongest and suits walls. Honed is calmer and hides water marks in showers.

03

Edges.

Plan where the tiles stop. Finish at a corner, a ceiling or a clean line, not in the middle of a wall.

Questions

FAQ.

Can marble tiles go on plasterboard?

Yes, with board rated for wet areas and the right adhesive. Check weight limits with the installer.

Do wall tiles need sealing?

Yes, especially in showers and around basins.

Should the wall match the basin?

Matching the stone ties the room together. A contrasting stone works if one of the two is calm.
