Guide
Travertine is soft, porous and acid-sensitive. Cleaning it is simple once you know what to avoid.
01
Warm water and a soft cloth. A few drops of pH-neutral stone soap when needed. Wipe dry.
02
Vinegar, lemon, bleach, limescale removers, abrasive powders and scouring pads. All of them dull or etch the surface.
03
Travertine is more absorbent than marble. Do the water test every few months and reseal when water soaks in.
Questions
It is not recommended. Heat and moisture can push dirt into the pores and weaken the seal.
