Guide
Green marble ranges from pale jade to near-black. It is a strong choice, and works best in a few deliberate places. Here is how to use it.
01
Dark green stones like Verde Alpi and Verde Guatemala have fine white veining. Lighter greens are rarer. Most dark green "marbles" are serpentines, slightly harder and less acid-sensitive than white marble.
02
One object or one surface is usually enough: a basin, a plinth, a tiled wall behind a sink. A whole room in dark green becomes heavy.
03
Green stone works with brass, walnut, oak, linen and off-white plaster. Avoid cool greys, which flatten the colour.
